This is Hotwheels out of Buffalo NY; the land of ice and snow. (this year rain and cloudy)
I was a teacher of auto tech for 36 years before retiring and becoming a semi-retired Realtor. Have a 2021 4runner TRD off road as does my youngest son (51) who resides in the Seattle area.

I joined this 4runner community to see if anyone had any insight in to a problem I have with my 4runner.

You see; I pulled my truck in to my garage on November 29 and halfway in the brake pedal went right to the floor.......no lights on dash of any kind.........and the vehicle proceeded to drive into a workbench and destroy the grill and bumper covers. ( 32,000 miles on the clock and 1year 6months old ) Claim went to corporate and no final replies as yet. Anyone out there experience this as yet??

 

Welcome from Texas. Sorry about the brake problem. I am sure if others have had the problem you will see a post from them.

Welcome. Sounds like a brake booster or brake line malfunction.

 

Welcome to the forum, As stated above, sounds like a failed brake booster. Has the issue continued since then or has it not been driven since the collision?

Have owned two 4runners and have never experienced the issue you had occur.

No idea about brake pedal going to the floor board…

 

Welcome to the forum, sorry to hear about the workbench collision, bummer.

 

Brakes/ABS are electric mtr driven to charge system - there is no booster it is all in one assembly. The car guru explains the system pretty well

 

The car has not been driven since the incident.....it is sitting in the dealer's lot waiting for corporate to decide what they are going to do about it. I am now in week 6 of a rental car to the tune of $1900 and counting. Seems to me it needs the ABS/booster unit replaced. We'll see.........according to their paperwork they shoud be contacting me no later than 1/14/2024. There are only 32,000 miles on this vehicle.
