I have a 2022 TRD Off-road without sunroof with about 16k miles and noticed recently that whenever there’s water in the roof and I hit the brakes causing the water to roll down the windshield, I get this hissing/leaking sound as if pressurized water is leaking past a rubber seal. Kind of hard to explain but it almost sounds like when you have a puncture in a tire and you spray soapy water on it to see where the air bubbles are coming from. Anyone have this happen before or know what could be causing it? My immediate concern was if water could be leaking into the cab but I checked the headliner and floorboards and can’t find any moisture or condensation on the windshield.

Are you positive it only makes the noise when there is water on the roof?

If you have the moon roof it's likely the drains and is normal.

Being that you said you do not have a sunroof, Can you narrow it down to one side or another possibly around the cowl area?

Did you purchase this new or preowned?

One way to verify is to power on the electrical system without starting the engine, then press the brake pedal a few times. If that's the sound you hear, then it's normal.

It seems like it’s coming from the top of the windshield directly in the middle where the map lights are. I’ll try to pay closer attention next time I have a chance to recreate the noise.

It’s a 2022 that I bought new, currently has 16k on the odometer. Only recently started to notice this noise.

Do the windshield leak test. Pour soapy water on the outside molding and then from the inside blow compressed air. If it forms bubbles outside, it's leaking from that spot

This is the almost continuous sound prominent at the 00:10 mark? I had to put headphones on to hear it. Sounds like either a rubber bushing squeak or a servo motor (like a HVAC blend door that's continuously cycling).

Yes that’s correct, sounds like a squeak. The HVAC was off so I know it’s not that but it does sound like a high frequency noise from a servo motor.

Such a strange noise and I can’t seem to figure out what’s causing it. I’ve inspected the headliner all around the windshield and don’t see signs of moisture and there no condensation on the windshield after it rains
