Be honest, the reason why the video was so short was because you ran outta gas really fast!

    Great shots!
I don't think I've ever gotten the RPM that high with my SC. Then again, I probably drive like a grandma these days. In any event, great to hear the whine and knowing the power is there.

I have put in 25K on my unit and no issues, maybe a little movement on the coolant reservoir up top that probably needs a better bracket, other than that I am solid there. I did regeared the rig to 456 and really like the low end torque. Have you gotten a separate tune for your SC?

Thanks. I've got 285's and no re-gear on mine. The 285/70/17 actually corrected the speedometer reading so it's spot on now. I'm not sure I'd like the 4.56 gears but it's likely better if I don't experience it on someone else's 4Runner. If I liked it It would cost even more money, lol. I haven't done a separate tune and just run the Magnuson tune. I have read where Magnuson 4Runner owners see a big improvements with a OCC tune though. Maybe eventually I'll try that out but for now I'm very happy.

Won’t lie, this has me looking forward to mine coming in even more. That throttle response looks very impressive. Thanks for posting these up and look forward to any more you post!

Just an FYI, the blower rolls on around 2k rpm. I also use a Banks Pedal Monster (like Pedal Commanders) to dial in the immediate throttle response I prefer. I have that dialed back just a bit during the Michigan winter months. The combination of both of those upgrades is perfect IMHO.

Thanks for pointing that out. The Toyota tech I talked to said these motors really like rpms so the blower really picks up around 2500. I think I will get the OTT tune as well so I can have the tune benefits and throttle response without needing the pedal commander. Out of curiosity, have you driven with the supercharger and without the pedal monster?

Same here on the 285’s correcting the Speedo. Same thing in my 2021. That basically means Toyota was cheating us on mileage/warranty :censored:

Definitely look into the OTT tune. It really wakes the Magnuson up and corrects shift logic for the added power. They’ve spent a lot of time refining it in the rollers and on the road.
OtT can dial in the throttle however you like it. Unless you are constantly changing what you want in terms of throttle response, throttle controllers are not needed once you get what you like.

I haven’t done an SC on mine yet, but the temptation is growing.

I'll probably be doing the OTT tune as well. I've read real good things about it taking care of the throttle response as well as really waking up the benefits of the supercharger as well. All without getting too lean. I just wanted to get a season out of it before upgrading the tune.

I was not at all satisfied with the OEM lack of power and the blower def makes me smile. I took my salesman for a ride and it made him smile too :)

I'm sure my stop watch was off by a bit, but I clocked you at 7 seconds 0 - 60MPH.

Fun fact: He probably got 7MPG doing that test! Ha.

So about 10% faster than stock with bigger than OEM tires. Not bad considering it really doesn't come alive till about 2,200 RPM.

7MPG? I wish.........when it was floored I'll bet it was closer to 2-3MPG, lol.

I bet stock tires would be quite a clip faster as well. Very nice. Really appreciate you posting these up.

Is it true that the 1GR-FE isn't compromised at all with the SC? Will it keep the same reliability to last 250-300k miles?

    Asking for a friend...

I did a lot of research and found numerous accounts of long term reliability including 4Runners that already had a lot of miles on them. The highest mileage was over 270k IIRC. Likewise, I was unable to find even a single instance of a Magnuson damaging an engine and in fact Magnuson has never had to replace an engine.....I asked.

Also, for a number of years this was offered directly from TRD performance and available for the 4Runner and FJ Cruiser.

I think it's safe to tell your "friend" it's unlikely to compromise the long term reliability of the 1GR-FE.

    Nice!!!! Great video.

If I was you I'd hit up ott or yotawerx to see about fine tuning. Since you now have a baseline(0-60). From the dyno graphs they posted there's plenty extra power to be had!

Do you plan on any other " power" mods?

On the HUD, would you be able to post up a picture of what it looks like from outside looking at the windshield? Had read it looks like a mirror. Was just curious how that looks from the outside.

Any issues with it or pretty straight forward?

The install is super easy. The menu for me was a bit tedious but I'm not very techy anymore either. It works great even in the brightest of sunlight. For me, I turn it off at night because it's too bright. There is probably a way to dim it (maybe) but I haven't taken the time to figure it out.

As cheap as it was I couldn't be happier. It's nice to have when I want to leave something else displayed other than the speed as I don't really use the round analog speedometer.

Not a great pic with the garage light but yes, it looks mirrored from the outside:

Thanks for posting that. This one has been on my to do or not to do list. Have heard others talk about how hard the menu process is.
