Installed the 5160 rear shocks and springs. Posted below - rough increase in height with the 6112 (set to 6 and 4 circlip position- measured from the bottom up) / 5160 combo. Told the vendor I was not adding any weight. Specs say this position of the circlips would add 2" of lift. For the rear, the vendor sent the B12 "Special" springs. These are spec'd to add approx 1" lift.

    Front +2 3/8" (equal both sides). R. Rear- +1 1/8", L. Rear +1.5"

    OEM spring on Right:

Working by myself, I had to get creative on the driver's side to press the axle down far enough get the spring in. In hindsight, I could have tried to jack up the passenger side.

Glass breaker tool was similar to these tool on Amazon. IMG_2027.jpg

I then removed the plastic inside of the armrest and drilled 2 holes for the bolts. Video of how to remove armrest is here and installed bracket with the m6 and m4 bolts. I picked the bolts up at a local hardware store.

Looking good! Let's see the stance. I'm running similar and really like how mine sits. I used a spring compressor on drivers side rear. Like you, I was working by myself. Great job on your install!

Got my Wescott Designs modular roof rack installed. I am coming from full size steel basket and was hoping for improved wind drag. The WD, Sherpa and Prinsu all look similar and solid racks with good reviews. I went with the optional floor plates which I don't think anyone on the forum is using. Hoping these work out allowing me to use it as a low profile mini basket strapping dry bag down.

Timing worked out perfect and we found the Lexus IS 500 color combo we have been looking for 400 miles away. Jumped in the 4r and did a 800 mile round trip driving to get it testing highway speed and leaks (torrential downpours while trip).

I can say for me going low profile helped with highway speeds using cruise and maintaining 75 to 80 mph. With the old rack, lift, weight etc it was constantly gear hunting at highway speeds.

Hey do you have any pics of the ram mount from the passenger side where it installs on the drivers seat bolts?

I was thinking about picking one of those up myself. Does it really dig into the passengers space or where their knees would be? Any rattling or is it pretty solid and quiet going down the road?

    Thanks!

    Oooh look, another mod.....

Okay, follow up: I didn't need the LC7i component; but I did need a Kicker Interface (apparently Toyota OEM's and other OEM radio's sometimes have this problem). The part I needed was only $50 but Bestbuy didn't charge me since it was swapped for a part that I bought but didn't need.

Once everything was hooked up the Trail Grid Pro speaker system sounded 5x's louder. It was much louder (at a lower volume) and the bass from the Kicker speakers could be felt. I could feel it in the seats and the back window would shake a little bit.

I played a Metallica song at volume level 30 before the amp was installed; and it sounded okay-ish. After the amp; it was so loud and the bass was so deep that I had to turn it down to volume level 20 and it sounded louder than 30.

Money well spent. My system rocks now!:headbang:

I like the idea a lot. Does anyone else have a concern that a passenger might try to use it as a door pull???

It has two strips of 3m tape on the back as well as an adhesion promotor to wipe the door with, so it's on there pretty good. I think it would hold up to that, but worst case you could restick it back on. Or maybe put spikes on top of it, like a bird deterrent.

I didn't use the tape. Only happened once. Passenger thought they broke my door. I told 'em to put it back. I've had them for 3 years now.

Found this little chunk on Amazon. It's HEAVY.

    Very heavy.

    It's all metal.

Personally, I like the way it looks. Was very easy to install. You twist put the nut on (not super tight), screw the ball on as tight as you can get so it's oriented correctly correctly, and undo the nut just enough to sit on bottom of the shifter to keep it from rattling and moving. The problem with this item (outside of being heavy) is that if you screw it all way down, it won't orient correctly. But it doesn't rattle with the nut just under it.

Brought the 4R to the dealership for the free 20k miles service.

Told them I’m doing the 5 tire rotation as I have a full spare. They did it but when I got home I noticed my spare tire was hanging, almost hitting the ground. Can’t believe they’re not even capable of putting a spare properly! As I grab the tools to fix it, I noticed my wheel lock was missing. Eventually found it on the floor inside the cabin.

also they suggested changing the cabin air filter. Insane how much they charge for such a simple thing. And I’m surprised they wanted to change it as I replaced it 2 weeks ago so it is really clean!

free isn’t really free. I am not taking their free service, just do it myself or take it to my mechanic I have used for over 10 years.

Wow! That's one of the worst I've heard.
    Bunch of hacks.
Sorry to hear. Happy everything's alright and you weren't really fooled.

Like I've said a few times here, the dealership is not your friend, ever. That's why it's been coined the stealership.

Interested in your feedback given you clearly take your rig off road. I'm currently lifted roughly 2.5 inches, running the same wheels, with 285/70s and they fit nicely, no rubbing, even flexed off road, but I've been eyeing a set of 285/75s for my next set of tires. I also like the tall skinny look.

How are the 285/75s fitting with the stock wheels? Do you have a bmc?

I'd never go to them again for anything. They clearly can't be trusted.

I absolutely love it. Driving at night it is so much easier to see. It’s like the hood disappears. And thank you I also swapped my scooped hood for the flat hood

I have them and this did happen and it pulled right out. I re-installed with better tape adhesive as the adhesive they come with is close to worthless.
