Hi, We just picked up a 2024 Pro in the new Underground color. After less than 2 weeks, we (I) are ready to upgrade the lackluster JBL system. I am sure many have done so (OEM Audio etc)and I am no expert, so I took it to the local "experts". They are having fun getting around the stock head unit (keeping because wifey does not know I am upgrading) and keeping functionality. Going with Focal K2s in the doors and Focal Flax in the rear gate with a sub in the stock JBL box (for now). Amps mounted under the front seats so the wife does not know anything ever happened.
Update: I left this as a draft last night and this morning decided to upgrade the head unit to the Kenwood floating screen 10.1" unit. Since they are in there now and I don't want to have them redo things later to add the head unit, I decided to do it now and just tell wifey that the head unit is all that was changed. She may or may not believe me, but I am having fun.
Last night she flipped out because the Toyota app tells her the doors are all open and unlocked etc. I don't know if there is a GPS function or not, but she has not figured it out yet to see where the 4R is. She thought the shop was driving it around town this morning when we saw another pro in magnetic gray. HAHAHAHA
I will post pics and full specs as well as a review once we have had it for a few weeks.

How did the new system turn out? I just did something similar using an Arc amplifier and Morel speakers. Huge improvement for me. The Kenwood 10.1 is going to be installed in a couple weeks.

I went with BLAM amps and Focal's with the JL sub. Had everything sound matted and the system tuned. Still use the stock head unit till I find something I like. Sounds soo good I catch myself taking the long way home.

Ok everyone, the verdict is in. Best sound I have ever experienced. We are 2 weeks in to an 18 day trip and my mind has been blown a dozen times.
I have heard things in music that I have been listening to for 30 years and did not know were there.
Volume is not a big thing for me, but clarity and the ability to turn it up on occasion without distortion, is my jam.
    Wow! Just Wow!
When I get back home, I will post the full stats on the build.

The 10.1 is huge. Mount it a little high and block the vents so you can see the heat and A/C display. The controls are visible with it low, but the display can't be seen. Moving ours up. The vents still blow on the hands which is all I need. Just FYI

How does it sound with the stock head unit? My wife was ready to kill me when she saw the Kenwood 10.1. She got used to it real quick, but I wonder how much of a difference it makes. I would not go back, just curious.

Doesn’t the Kenwood have the ability to control the AC through the CanBus?

The wallet hurts for sure. About 11k plus when all was said and done. Way more than I originally budgeted, but the ears and more important, the wife's ears, are very happy! Haha

I have no complaints. I use Sirius so the sound quality is best as can be expected from the stock unit.
