I purchased a set of Michelin defenders
Ltx ms/2 for my 2023 runner and noticed a drop of about a mile a gallon in gas mileage , has anybody else who purchased the same tires for their runner have the same thing happen ?

I’ve run Defenders on my last three 4Runners and have never noticed this. I suspect it’s something else, such as colder weather affecting mileage.

I run Defenders and my mileage still sucks but I’ve found a workaround. I just quit looking at the mileage.

Winter gas always drops my mpg by about 2. If you didn’t upsize and inflation is proper, it’s probably gas, driving, etc. that has changed.

Too many variables affect mpgs. I wouldn't worry about it...you have to put gas in it anyway.

I have a 4th Gen and the same here, my MPG dropped around 1/2 to 1 MPG, it's the weight of the tires, but I already expected it to drop with the heavier tires so it wasn't a shock to me.

I could see Defenders dropping mileage compared to the OEM Dunlops or Duellers, but really they're going to be the best mpg tire of any quality option.

Check your tire pressure; even a drop to 30 can really kill mileage in these.

have the same tires on my 2019 4runner (and our other two vehicles). same MPG as when I had the stock Dunlops. A very not-impressive 19.8 overall, but I knew what I was getting into when I bought this thing, Lol!

Thanks gang for your replys and like one member said all of us who purchase 4 runners should know good gas mileage is not to be expected.

Check your tire pressure. Last time I had new tires put on, I noticed that the mileage had dropped noticeably, and my tire pressure is low. I reset the tires, after a few weeks it had come back up.

Also, if the tires are heavier than your original tires, you'll lose a little bit of mileage.

And yes, 4Runner mileage is not good but to immediately lose one or two MPG is in fact something to be concerned about.
