Hello, I am having some issues with my removal of the X Reas system.
I have looked at almost every thread on here about removing and how no lights will signify when removed. (I guess I have one and a million)
We unhooked the old struts and rear shocks and replaced with Monroe parts.
After the install, went ahead and did the alignment while it was on the rack and now the parking brake light, center Diff lock (Flashing), slip indicator, and ABS have came on.
Please help. We are at a lost for words on this and cannot figure out how a non electrical system (X reas) has caused all this to happen.

I'm willing to bet an ABS line was stretched. You will have to do a deep scan to see what code is setting off the lights.

I will try this. When you say deep you mean deep as into taking it to the dealer?

Dealer or anyone with a scanner that can communicate with the different modules. A regular scanner for CELs will not be able to see the code since it's a code in a different module.

I have a scanner our mechanics use everyday. One is a touchscreen Hunter and one is a big snap on.
So, my 4runner being AWD has nothing to do with the removal of the REAS ?

That Snap On should be able to see the code.

Nah many people have ditched XREAS without issues. I'm thinking a line got stretched or just a coincidence.

    Ok, I appreciate your help!
I will get our mechanics to take another look at it.

    Thanks again!

One more question, would it hurt anything to drive the vehicle with these codes? The lights are on, but everything seems to function properly

Most 4Runners with XREAS are AWD. Most likely one of the wheel speed sensor wires were damaged during shock replacement. Good scanner like the Snap On can read individual wheel speeds. Mechanic can spin each tire individually by hand and see which parameter doesn't show a sensible value, assuming a simple visual inspection of the wires doesn't show anything.

You won't have ABS, stability control, or the ability to lock the center diff while the lights are on.

This. No communication to the Xreas system and any computers. Mine was removed on my Limited as many others without issue. Speed senor damage is more than likely the culprit.

Did you remove all of the XREAS hydraulic tubing and proportioning valves? If so, how did you remove them? Carefully? Cut and yank? The reason I ask is with all of the warnings you have on, it sounds to me like either a harness connector was disconnected or that wiring was cut in the process. The connector shown in the picture is the one I would be concerned with. There is one on each side, with associated wiring to each. All of your issues would be related to that wheel speed sensor.7A17A130-57A5-437F-A526-AC6B6FD20E13.jpg

I overstretched the wire that connects to the wheel speed sensor when I did my lift... Had the usual Christmas tree light syndrome on my dash . I think the OEM part number is 89516-60270 (not sure if that is left/right dependent).

Another option: relatively easy to splice in a new wire with the usual safety "at your own risk" caveats... Use a multimeter to test what side is bad, cut out the bad wire, solder some new wire (I used 14 gauge OFC speaker wire that I had lying around), grease the solder joint to prevent rust, cover in heat shrink/electrical tape, feed the wire in some fuel hose to insulate it.
