Just noticed my side mirrors have lights on the underside yet I’ve never seen them come on. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

They come on when the key is in your pocket and you open the car door or walk near it on the outside. Maybe your bulbs or a fuse it out (if they don't come on).

I had to go into vehicle settings and turn them on. Listed under auxiliary lighting or something like that.

So this is something I’ll need the dealer to enable? I don’t see anything for this under vehicle settings in the cluster or the infotainment system.

It should be enabled by default, I think Tech stream/Carista may be required to modify but not 100% on that.

Do you have the key fob on you when walking up the the runner with it locked?

You may want to do a search as I remember one thread on some newer 4runners running into a software glitch when modifying some remote setting and in turn, caused other issues that could only be rectified by a visit to the dealer. Will search and try and link that thread for your review.

I think stealership can do it in tech stream too. But mine was in vehicle settings vehicle customization

Caveat. I have an Alpine with a Maestro RR.

Yup, that’s accessible with any 4R I believe. It is for mine.

Thought so. I don't think the maestro RR ads anything, but wanted to be transparent

I noticed that mine come on only if the doors are locked when I approach. If it's sitting my garage with the doors unlocked, the lights don't come on.
