    Sorry if I'm being blunt, but this is reality. If the payments on this are too expensive for you to afford without leasing, you simply cannot afford this vehicle.

    On the bright side, Toyota has been making the same exact vehicle for 14 model years now, so you could buy a used one for significantly less money. That's what I did, I bought a 2013 in 2019 and people still ask me if it's brand new.

    Or wait another year till the next gen comes out. I have a feeling that people are going to be trading in 5th gen's like crazy. This is an enthusiast forum, and people like certain aspects of the 4Runner, but the general buying population cannot wait for there to be a hybrid and a new model. I have a friend who has a 2012 SR5 that has been talking about being excited about a hybrid 4runner for like 4 years now, haha.
