Bought new cargo trailer to pull with 2023 4runner.... lot of options out there... beware.

I bought a 7X12 brand new tandem axle enclosed trailer. Mostly to store/carry motorcycle, but multiuse.

I looked around a lot, found the best price. Or so I thought... I knew I wanted 16" OC studs, ramp, plywood not osb. and very little more....

Well how about the roof? Looks good... from inside. Never thought to climb up or ask for pictures of top...

I know these are often slapped together... even the best of them. Look at shit job done on this roof. WTF. This is going to leak. Not if, but when. That caulk is going harden over time and crack and flex and leak. So pissed.

Bottom line, I should have gotten up on a ladder looked at roof, and immediately said NO FING WAY. $1000 difference right there in a seamless, leak-proof roof

You get what you pay for.

Oh, and the walls are 16 OC. Roof is 24 OC. And I say that 24 OC lightly. Might be 22 on one side, 25 on the other. Made in USA.

I was just about to finish of the interior with insulation, FRP panels, diamond tread floor... Now I'm guessing not going to waste money.

 

What brand?

 

Call your local RV places and ask about roof coating. I had my trailer built...thank God it's not mass produced like most that you see out there.
