Purchased some KO2 Load E in stock size from Discount T!re. After trying different pressures, 43 psi (hot) seems to provide the best MPG. Tried the chalk test, but damp pavement erased it all. Will try again on a dry day.
Running standard TRD Off Road wheels.
    Other info:
Traded in the stock tires and received $60 per.
One tire has an enormous amount of weights on it, but no shuttering/shaking. They placed the heavily weighted tire on the right rear, so will be interesting to see what happens when rotated.
$275 per tire, no certificates bought, $22 per install fee = $297 per
-$240 for trade ins, -$110 promotion
Out the door for $903 and change.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

I'm not sure what I'm more jealous of, the fact that your TPMS actually works(mine crapped out after I upgraded my tires), or that you're getting 23 MPG. I can barely get 21.

I don't accelerate beyond the blue eco bars. It surely infuriates some other drivers.
Bummed to hear your TPMS crapped out. Didn't know that was a common problem.

I have a soft right foot too. When commuting to work, I never drive faster than 65MPH. But yeah, Discount Tire fucked up my TPMS' when they swapped my tires. To be honest, I'm not sure if the system ever worked. I say that because I swapped the tires when the truck only had 11 miles on it.

But they've replaced the TMPS, reset the system, recalibrated the system, etc... Nothing works. I cannot get a readout on the dash. And, every three weeks, I get an error telling me there's a TMPS malfunction and to go to my local dealer.

Brutal. That would not sit well with me, especially with only 11 miles on the clock. Your easygoingness must serve you well!

I do not have E rated but I’m happy with mine about 40 psi.
I’ve had lots of KO over years on several trucks and all have balanced with a small amount of weight except 35x12.5-15 on the Jeep but the problem tire does run well enough to run an old Jeep on the freeway. Do yourself a favor and rotate that one tire to the front before your satisfaction guarantee period runs out.

I ran closer to 32psi on my BFG KO2 LT275/70R17 Load E. Initially they had 40PSI from the tire shop. Even at 32psi ride was firm for my stock weight 4runner. Just like 275s the 265 Load E might be similar I guess? 10ply rated main thread and 3ply side wall?

My BFG KO2 265/70R17 Load C and 285/70R17 Load C were happy around 34-35psi. Ride was not firm as Load E brother.

We're at 36psi with the Cooper AT3 LTs, E load range. As they get worn down some (3 yrs. old almost 29k miles) they are once again getting a little psi sensitive. Mileage is almost 20.0 (19.9) Mostly short trips 30 miles or less one way. When the Coopers were new they seemed to like 38-39psi. Our son runs KO2's on his work trucks, thought he said they were at 45-50psi., they are weighed down with equip. though and mileage not a concern..FWIW.

I bought my KO2s in October in a “C” rating (same tire size as you) and sent an email to Michelin/BFG and they got back to me and said the optimum cold pressure for mine is 40PSI on a 5th Gen 4Runner. That being said I think my current TPMS reads 38PSI every morning but quickly warms to 40PSI after a couple miles. I think I have put about 1200 miles on them and had to have them rebalanced in early December. I would have never known they need rebalanced had I not done some highway miles and got a lil shimmy in my steering wheel at around 58–62 MPH. My tire guy said they were both off by 2oz and I know they road force balance the tires. Any rate everything is smooth as silk for now.

Wow!!!! That MPG number is superb - congrats. I can get 23mpg sometimes on a majorly downhill run back from town - occasionally, usually 21.

I have Load C KO2's 265's on my 21 Venture and on my FJ40 and run them at 40psi cold (on the road - but way lower on the trails). I talked to a friend who was formerly with Michelin/BFG a while back and that was his recommendation. So, Michelin/BFG told MooreKen and me the same thing. But since you're running the E's, that number would be higher.

About the massive amount of counter-balance weights. I have that too, but they are completely smooth at highway speeds same as yours - also installed at Discount Tire. I never complained to them about it and - so far - we haven't knocked any of the weights off out on the trails. I did put it on a lift and took a couple quick pics with my camera just to see if any of them came loose over time (and so I'd have a record of how many weights were there if I was wondering if any fell off).

I barely run 30psi on C rated. I like a plush ride lol. I will say 40 psi on my tires started causing them to chop a little, so that was too much
