Long story short I'm on the hunt for a 24 TRD Pro 4runner in Underground. I'm coming from a 21 TRD Pro Tacoma Lunar Rock (totaled in May of this year). I stopped by Lipton Toyota in Broward FL to see about ordering a new vehicle. I got directed to the sales manger and after talking with him for 5 minutes I told him that im only looking for this one 4 runner (no other color or trim). He pushed a paper across the table with the cost. I was blown away. They wanted 80k for the TRD Pro. I paid MSRP for my Tacoma in 21. What's everyone paying for their 24's?

Oh im willing to travel lol ( ill fly and drive home for the right price). I played this game when buying my 21 Tacoma. I have a TRD Pro 4Runner and a Ranger Raptor on order at local dealers. Which ever one I can get first is the vehicle im going with. I would love a 4 runner as almost all the accessories I took off the tacoma will work with the 4 runner and most importantly the reliability of the Toyota.

If I was in the market for a new trd pro, I'd get terra or underground. Its kind of cool this year you can choose between two new colors.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

This one is in Alabama. It's not 'that' far from you, and it's "only" $60k - but it's the color you want.

$80k is just nuts. I would have asked him what made him think he could ask that kind of price.

Be sure to send a copy of your sales document to the nutcase at Lipton when the deal is done. Along with a promise to warn anyone in the market for a Toyota to stay far away from their dealership.

No incoming Pros in the Underground color within 100 miles of zip code 33024 (10 dealers in search radius): https://www.toyota.com/search-inven...&trim=4Runner+TRD+Pro&year=2024&zipcode=33024

If you want a better price, you'll need to either compromise on the color or travel farther out.

The other 9 dealers in the 100-mile search radius might take an order at MSRP, but you could be waiting an indeterminate amount of time. Effectively Lipton gave you an "F-U price" because they couldn't be bothered with a future sale at an indeterminate time.

That’s exactly what I had to do to get my ‘Runner at a non-stupid price. I gave up trying to find a dealer anywhere in the south that wasn’t playing the “customer rape” game. Plus inventory absolutely sucks in the whole region. Good luck!

Send a link to this thread to the sales managers at the dealership. I am sure they have email addresses on their website.

They would probably appreciate all the positive feedback on a 4Runner site.

Since youre in south Florida, I would consider taking the drive to visit (or possibly call) Earl Stewart Toyota in Northlake. When I was shopping for a 4runner they were one of the only dealers in the state that would order a 4runner with no money down and sell at MSRP.
That was their staple for years - may have changed since I talked to them (about 18 months ago).

Only reason I didnt buy from them was because they couldnt forecast a delivery date. I ended up buying in Alabama with a dealer that had one ORP in stock for MSRP.

Coincidentally, I did place an order as a mitigation and they called me about a month after I had purchased to tell me they had the vehicle coming in.

The salesman didnt care as they typically have a long pool of waiting list people looking for inventory.

    Hope this helps.

Another option is locate one anywhere and have it shipped to you. I have known people who shipped from vehicles from Detroit to Dallas (covered for $1,500) this was a while back. Regardless the savings would still be significant

I bought my '21 Pro in Cleveland and had it shipped to SF Bay Area. I was happy to have the trucker make some money and not pay extra to the dealer.. No dealer in the Bay Area was selling for MSRP at the time. Got the truck at MSRP from Motor Cars Toyota (it has since changed ownership so no idea if they are still an MSRP dealer or have gone scumbag like so many others).

I have one on order from Earl Stewart. I always check other dealers to see price and who has them. My buddy actually works there and I would love to buy the truck from him. I'm getting itchy as I haven't had a personal vehicle since May 2023 as I totaled my 21 TRD Pro Tacoma. Luckily my work provides me with a F250 so im not totally without a truck.

I can recommend without reservation Mountain States Toyota in Denver. No BS, mostly. Got a little finance guy pushing extended warranties BS but I was able to score my T4R for sub MSRP, including the plane ticket. They even picked me up at the airport.

I saw a new SR5 in "Underground" today at LeBlanc Toyota in BR, LA.
It looks a little darker than my 13 Cement FJ.

I intensely dislike lipton. After talking in person to 7-8 so fl toyota dealerships ended up in Ocala at De Luca toyota and bought a 2023 limited for msrp. That was last May. I felt they treated me fairly and the car was loaded incl crossbars, mudflaps and heavy duty mats. Might want to give them a call.
    Good hunting

$80K is smoking crack territory lol but it’s a bit tough when you want a Pro in a specific exclusive color at msrp, even from no markup dealers. Only exception I saw was lime rush because people were backing out of taking delivery when they saw them in person.

I was first on the list at my dealer, passed on a ‘22 lime rush allocation, then waited over a year to take delivery of my solar octane Pro. Didn’t mind the wait since I plan on keeping the truck till the wheels fall off and ended up being the only SO they got in ‘23.

I think ‘24s will be a little easier to track down due to higher inventory, interest rates, layoffs, etc. I wouldn’t waste time going in person anywhere, just start cold calling dealers, ask if they sell Pros at msrp (tough to do better than that right now), and put a deposit to get in line if the line is short for your color.

May take multiple refundable deposits in a few places and being open to buying a bit of a drive from you but you should be able to score one in-state with no BS markup. Unfortunately this process has become standard for any desirable model/trim from many manufacturers if you don’t want to pay the impatience tax (which I would never pay).
