I have a 19 trd pro. 48k miles. Tires are factory still. Tires rotated every 6k when oil is changed. Today during rotation, the tire shop said i was starting to get inside tire wear. Asked if id ever had an alignment done. Nope, do it. They put it on the rack, it didnt need to be aligned, shocks arent worn. They had no idea why they would start to wear. Anyone else had this? What was outcome? Tia.

Well it is wearing quicker but even the outside is getting close to the indicator.

They should always give you a printout.

    Oooh look, another mod.....
If you're curious why they're wearing un-evenly, you should have gotten a print out. Even though this is your beloved go-to tire guy, they may be trying to sell you new tires even if you don't need them.

They could also wear un-evenly because of being over or under inflated. If over inflated, the inside treads wear faster than the outside. If under inflated, the reverse happens.

You have a 4, almost 5yr old truck with FACTORY tires on it. Toyota isn't going to put the best tires on your truck, they'll put the cheapest (to them) on it and ship it out. The fact that you've gotten over 48k miles is amazing. I'd be happy with the fact that you've gotten almost 50,000 miles from stock tires.

Yeah that was the plan when i get income taxes back. My concern was the wearing and not needing an alignment, if there was something else 4runners were known for that did this.

My friends TRD Pro also has the same inside tire wear. Since it's a lease vehicle didn't bothered to do alignment.

I have done alignment and tire balance to my TRD Pro using my own money since TRD Pro stuff are installed locally (as far as I see on posts / pics).
