    Hello,

    I am a python programmer who also owns a 2016 4Runner. I am looking to get some detailed information about the OBD and CANbus systems for developing diagnostic software. Does anyone know where I can get information like schematics and additional details such as this that would aid in this endeavor?

    That would be great. I am just starting to learn about OBD-II and CANbus, so I'll take anything at the moment. Had no idea hunting this down would be so difficult.

    I would also be interested in learning a bit about vehicle CAN. I work on a project called SimpleIoT. We have basic support for CAN now:

    The end goal would be to send vehicle data (engine/tranny temps, battery voltage, etc) to the cloud (what SIOT is good at) and graph in Grafana so we can watch data over time. Not sure what is available and what is useful. Example of graphs monitoring servers:
