I just bought a '19 TRD ORP. It has a lift and I'm not sure exactly what was done. I think it's a spring and UCA but I'm still learning about suspension upgrades and lifts.

Can anyone help me understand what's been done and what additional things I could or should do? Thanks!

Its a cheap large top hat spacer In the front. And lift spacers in the rear with. Stock uca

I'd remove that and get your a quality lift.

it is just a cheap spacer lift. I would either remove it and return to stock, or install a proper suspension lift.

I appreciate the info and advice. Does this current lift cause any issues? Is the main reason to remove or replace it is because it doesn’t function as well as a quality lift or stock? I’m planning to remove it but want to better understand the current setup.

The rear is fine to have spacers, extended travel shocks might be need(which you do have aftermarket rear shocks).

The front you have oem shocks and springs, but a larger spacer on top. Which with the ifs a .5" spacer gains 1" of lift. Looks like you have 2"+ spacers which will net you WAY to much lift for the oem uca.

For starters what size lift would you like to have?

Do you plan on wheeling off road? If not then leave it like it is if you like the look. If you plan on wheeling then upgrade to a quality lift or go back to stock. Yes it's mainly the front end that will give you trouble with a spacer lift (cheap one at that). Imo quality off road tires are the best bang for you buck.

That makes sense, thanks for the info there. I like the current look/height and I’m hoping to go off road some. I was looking at different off road tires and I’ll start looking at a different suspension as well.

I started with something like this until I was given the correct lesson on why these things are not safe. I recommend you removing it and getting something a bit more reliable that supports the other components. There are tons of reviews and comparisons between spacer lifts and pre-collar lifts etc, if you really want something inexpensive without the need of messing with the suspension, go with the westcott pre-collar lift kit, this goes under instead of the top. Wescott and other explain the difference between these lifts and the pros and cons. In the back, you are probably ok to keep as is, if that is the look you like but be sure you want the right leveling on both front and back. Good luck.
