Hi all. I have a 2019 TRDOR, about 125k miles, and it threw code P0705 for a second time. This is the Park/Neutral Position sensor (PNP). Last one was 4-6 months ago, so not frequent.

Since there are a few possible causes, I thought I’d check to see if any of you have experienced this. For example, is it possible to throw this code if you move the shift lever too quickly from drive to park or vice versa?

Truck drives fine when this happens. CEL and TRAC are on solid, multi terrain select (green truck icon) is flashing, and no cruise control. Otherwise fine.

I’ve reset the code and all is good now.

    Thanks.

There was quite a few threads about it, seems to be common after 6-7 years. Sensor rusts and slowly dies. My sensor threw this code first time somewhere in spring and I gave up and replaced it in winter, it was still working but switching gears to "D" became unreliable and I didn't want to be stranded somewhere in winter : )

I did a search on here but got no hits. From what I've seen, the switch doesn't look to be very difficult to replace.
