    Hi all! Just bought this 1998 2wd 6 cylinder 4 runner that made an awful roaring type sound in 1st gear. Does not make it in any other gear and still shifts great. I dropped the transmission pan to find some metal in the pan. Any chance it isn’t toast?

    also, I will probably be on the lookout for a new 2wd tranny in the San Diego area
