…and man, if you thought 4Runners were pricey, it’s going to be ugly when the next gen comes out.

Yup it’s 53k for a Tacoma trd off road premium non hybrid, when the hybrid comes out in the spring it will probably be another 2k so about 55k for a trd off road premium Tacoma. A 4Runner trd off road premium with the same specs will have to run about 57 to 60k all the naysayers said I was smoking crack when I pointed this out when the “Land Cruiser” prado was revealed

These prices are through the roof! It was just a few years ago I could buy fully loaded SUV for ~35K.

People will still buy them by the droves, there are a ton of people buying 100k dollar full size trucks and rolling them to 100 month payments I’m sure they’ll do the same with the taco

Americans in general buy "too much car" i.e. a car they can not afford.
I never buy anything I can not pay cash for. But this is because I am likely older, and I hope wiser. If you finance you will, in your mind, justify that $100 extra payment for the top trim. "Its just $100 more, and I get swedish massage feature while driving!"

    So too things:

    1) Cheap money has gotten us here. Frankly, why pay cash for something that you can finance at less than 5% whilst pouring as much money as possible into your investments that generate more than 5%.

    2) Massaging seats are awesome. I only regret having them because I don’t have them now, and I do miss them. Massaging seats and heated seats are great. Giant iPads are not.
