Received a shipment of speakers today. Would appreciate some guidance. Mainly, the Crutchfield’s rear door bracket comes with a set of “speed clips”. They are meant to clamp onto the circular hole where the speaker sits into. But I really don’t want to do metal-metal surface contact. Plus, I think the truck already has those green nylon anchors for screws right?
i bought the Infinity Reference 9632 6*9 for the front, and Kicker 47KSC504 co-axial for the rear (the Kicker is 5.25” diameter).

I havent done the front as I have the 2.4A that was pre installed by the dealer (this one https://parts.priceleblanctoyota.co...T_LGCA7qKyOeeGpWMs2IK8qZ1i0oZ8ZxoCkhEQAvD_BwE)

for now it's sufficient and gives me the ability to use USB-A (just the normal USB ports) without using an adapter.

The main reason I installed USB-C at the back is to charge my ipad. The link for it is in the quoted message below

Finally got my Toyota TSS rims put on today. Luckily, guy I work with bought my old rims today as well. Made a small profit today. Winner, winner! Chicken dinner!

As a side note: Anyone know where I can get some black lug nuts for decent price? Don't wanna pay an arm and leg for lug nuts.

I can't help but think things like lug nuts, spark plugs, brake pads, recovery gear, etc. may not be the wisest components to cheap out on :p

I too have oem that I don’t remember the cost but wasn’t bad. Is what it is if you want. Makes all the difference imo. Before I bought them I did come across while searching, there are rubber lug “sleeves” that go over the chrome ones. Kinda like a condom that are cheap….

Four sets of PT076-60200-02 from BAM was like $62 shipped. I have black Gorillas on my old car and they're kinda rusty.

Make sure what style of lug nuts you need first. If that is an oem wheel it is most likely conical and your dealer will be the place to go. If it's after market it may be spline and then you'll want to source some of those online. As someone said above it may not be the place you want to super cheap out.

Here are the part numbers for the OEM equivalent from Gorilla. I'm not sure if you would need the 1.5" or 1.85" long lugs for your wheels. On my 2nd gen Tacoma I had the 3rd gen Tacoma TRD/OR wheels and I used the 1.5" lugs but wished I had gotten the 1.85". I only changed my lugs because the OEM ones where starting to bulge as they are hollow and the Gorilla's are solid. I paid $73 for all 4 wheels in 2020.

    12mm x 1.50 x 1.50" - 73138TBC
    12mm x 1.50 x 1.85" - 73138TXLBC

Thank you to everyone for lug nut info. Called my local dealer and got a set of 24 for about $18/6 pack. Not great. But not terrible.

When i went in to place the order he said he said their lug nuts usually are sold individually. And proceeded to tell me it was $400-something. I said NEGATIVE.

But the part number I gave was for pack of 6 and not the individual ones.

    Talk about sticker shock!

:annoyed: At least you weren't stuck with 120 extra lug nuts.

Installed the Infinity reference front and kicker 47KSC504 for the rear, also did the Subaru Kicker dash tweeters. Very happy, no fitment issues. The clarity is incredible now. No need for subwoofer and sound processor in the next five years.

I swapped in the DS-18 Pro ST Dash tweeters on my premium HU and like the results. Can definitely hear the difference in sound quality.
I’ll look into the Infinity for the front doors.

I know this may be annoying, but can you post your order list or links from crutchfield so those of us who stink at audio can order with confidence please? Been wanting to do this for a long time but always have be up confused.

I went there and it was totally worth it. So much so that I catch myself taking the long way home because another favorite song is playing.

    SCS wheels and Westcott lift
Nice. I would like to do this eventually. Gives it the cleaner look instead of just adding a sub box. Did you sound deadening around the new sub area? Also did you add a separate subwoofer knob?

Yeah. Had the speakers replaced with BLAM! speakers and amps. Sound deadening mats and then tuned. The volume from 1-25 (loudest I've gone so far) is perfect and no one will ever know it's there.

Took advantage of the somewhat nice weather today. Rotated the tires, greased the UCAs and driveshaft today too.

Does the driveshaft only have 1 zerk fitting? I saw one at the u-joint near the transmission, but didn't see one near the rear diff.

There are a total of six, three each for front and rear drive shaft/U-joint.

I guess my eyes aren't very good if I could only find one out of six.

Well, two of them are hard to find, and you may have to rotate the shafts to get at them.
