I have a 2016 that I am trying to locate fabricated brackets to use behind the grill for traditional auxillary lights (i.e. old school 7 inch roundies). I have searched forums and the net (though I admit not heavilly) and am only finding LED examples. I was hoping that somebody might know of an exisitng bracket that would work before I begin contacting fab shops to see if they would be interested in making something like this. I have some PIAA 520s that I want to place on either side of the lower grill opening as close to the sides as possible. There is a frame bolt behind the grill that I am using for some crappy brackets I made out of cheapo Lowes L-ange steel but I want something that is more one piece from heavier stock (as I am not a welder). I had some nice heavy-gauge 10" fog light extensions (from an old Saab of all things) that work great for going through one of the the lowest openings in the grill. It almost looks like some ditch light brackets might work flipped upside down and after being bent up some. The bracket would only need to rise about 4-5 inches high from the bimper frame behing the grill. I do not want to go through the bumper cover either. Before I waste my money on re-shaping a ditch light bracket, I wanted to see if others had mounted lights in this manner in the grill opening. I am really surprised that there is not something readilly available for this type of application as that grill opening looks great with round lights on either side. And the frame behind the grill is easy to get to and a great place for a bracket. I am also not intersted in a brush guard or any other mounted light bar. Thanks!

I used KC Hilites brackets to mount my Rigid light bar. Check their site.

Rago Frabrication may have something that probably will work for this application, see link for vid and info https://youtu.be/L-j0JF6TjTQ
Optional crossbar pre-drilled for multiple light types.

Thank you. I think I will actually check into that. Only difference is I want the lights in front of the grill. I saw this site but not this video. I really appreciate the response.

No problem at all; I’m considering doing the same thing as well with 6” dia. KC’s…let me know what you come up with and share pics.

Just a follow up to this for anybody interested in the Rago brackets. I went ahead and ordered a set with the crossbar. This is an excellent product! Beefy and very well made with plenty of mounting options for lights. My hat is off to Rago, very impressive. I am planning on the install this weekend and will provide a follow up to that for all interested.

Well, How did it go? … Did you install the lights outside?

The Rago product is excellent. In fact I spent more time adjusting to different heights than the install would have needed. I might actually bring them out higher to be up near the grill cross bar. I hit a snag with my extensions needing one side bent down so I will need to visit a friend to heat them and use a vise—I really need to get one of those. So I will send you a photo once I get that done. For now they are behind the grill. The bracket didn’t allow for them to go as far to the sides as I wanted but I will be able to angle the extensions I have so I am still expecting the outcome I wanted. Unfortunately I had to put my license plate back on the bumper. I had it in the grill before and it actually didn’t look bad tucked to the far left. Sorry about crappy photo. Will take a better one when completed. Of course I have to get them working now too. I was more concerned about getting them mounted first. By the way the bumper skin comes off amazingly easy and same with the install. I used some old yellow Hellas first will put the piaa set in later 801329C5-FD1B-4244-84E4-CA93D40586A9.jpg
