New to this forum but figured it was worth my while joining an elite group of truck enthusiasm .Picking up my 2023 lunar rock ORP in five days .Any advice negotiating a decent OTD price. This is a Canadian purchase. I could buy the truck right out cash hopefully get a decent price on it .Also thinking about saving as much as I can on interest rate .

    Oooh look, another mod.....

You won't be able to knock a penny off the price, because Lunar Rock is a very coveted color. I'm not sure about Toyota financing for Canada, but currentlyl in the U.S. (if you have a great credit score), you can get 6.28%

If your finances can tolerate it, buy it outright. Be sure to come back and show us pictures of it as soon as you get it.

And just like first time parents, make sure you show us all the pictures:

"This is the Lunar Rock at the dealership"
"This is my wife WITH the Lunar Rock"

    Oh and let's not forget...

"Or Lunar Rocks FIRST car wash!"

You will not get a better price from them by paying cash. Cash doesn't make them money.

However, you might be able to get them to knock the price down a bit if you agree to finance with them.

Agree on the price, sign the papers (make sure the contract allows you to pay in full at any time), and then pay the whole thing off that first month.

Tell them you're shopping around for financing and you have a good rate from your credit union (or whatever) and ask them if they'll knock anything off the price if you finance with them.

Don't ever mention anything about your ability to pay the thing off right away.

Keep an eye out for prepayment penalties. But it could work for you, just understand the details!

How can they not have prepayment penalties baked in? Seems like too easy of a loophole.
Get financing + higher purchase discount, then pay it off after month 1?

I paid my 4Runner off early (as have many others on here) with no pre-payment penalties.

Not to say it can't be baked into the OP's dealer contract. It could be and is absolutely worth checking into, but I don't think it's very common with car dealers. Maybe I'm wrong :notsure:

Same here, but financed through my credit union. I know they want to sell financing at the dealerships, but if they want to sell you a 4R, you should be able to finance wherever you want without penalty.
