The clear plastic screen in my 4R seems to be getting very scratched. Does anyone else have this issue? Can it be replaced or is there a product that will buff out those scratches to make it look new? Its annoying when the truck is clean but the plastic looks dirty and scratched.

Yes, mine is scratched to shit. I don’t think there is a replacement part for it without replacing the entire cluster.

don't know how to replace or fix the scratches but when you do look into this product..

I just ordered a couple days ago foy my 21 4R..protects dash cluster and screen..also, claims to be fingerprint free..

    It's a long list...
You can replace the lens over the gauge cluster. It’s clipped on. You will need to remove the cluster though to do it. Here’s the part numbers. They run about $40 from the dealer, but probably cheaper ordered online. That said, if you are going to replace it, you might as well try and buff out your current one. Worst case is it doesn’t work, but you were going to order a new one anyways.

Every car that I owned, no matter how careful or what I used, the lens will scratch when it's being cleaned.

You either never clean the lens.

Or polish the scratches after you clean.

yeah I ordered that to install the first weekend I owned my 4Runner. I found it so difficult to get it flat against the curved lens that I finally just gave up. Still have one left to try again later when I can’t stand the scratches anymore

This issue must be specific to the 4r. I have other Toyotas and they are fine.

    Lots…
Try looking up screenprotech (dot com). Why can’t we type out websites in here? installed the protection film and it looks like new. You’ll need to remove the cluster to install the film well. Worth it.
