06-09' Tail Lights on 03-05'

    Is this a direct replacement? I know they are different looks and I think the 06-09' are LEDs for part of it. Can you just put the newer taillights on the 03-05' without any other modifications? I don't want to deal with LED relays or flash issues, but would also like to update the look if possible while Black Friday deals are going on. Only looking at OEM Toyota parts.

    After more research I don’t think they will work without adding some kind of LED flasher/resistor stuff.

    On my 06 the only portion that is LED is the brake/tail light itself, so I don’t think you’ll have issues with the hyper flashing blinkers. The reverse and blinkers are still traditional incandescent bulbs.

    Well I’ll be darned, thank you for linking that thread. It does look like you can swap them out… I’ll be ordering a set of ‘newer’ 4th gen taillights today!
