One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
You can probably count on warped exhaust manifolds/snapped off mounting bolts in your future, a common problem with the Hemi. I have machined both of my buddy’s Ram Hemi manifolds flat. Elongating/enlarging the mounting holes seems to help with breaking the bolts.
No fun to R&R the manifolds and extracting the broken off bolts out of the head.
Now just this week his Jeep Hemi has an exhaust leak…..here we go again.
Not dissing on the Mopar, I have owned mine for 20 years.
You know what they say about Dodge Cummins?

Yes those are a issue I am aware of, my friends 2016 needed them done at 65,000 miles. He tows heavy all the time not sure if that played into how early was needed but if mine go in 8 years / 100,000 miles the dealer can do them for free

Yes, no fun doing the R&R and they will give you brand new manifolds and they can enjoy extracting out the remnants of the broken steel bolts out of the aluminum head.
But…..my theory is once they warp they have gotten to near their ‘Happy Shape’ and won’t warp much more if at all, combined with slotting and oversizing the mounting holes to help prevent the expanding manifold from snapping off the bolts again they might last a bit longer.

I traded my 2022 Pro4X in a 4Runner. I actually enjoyed driving this truck. I have a few complaints but the powertrain compared to my 2016 Tacoma TRD Offroad was night and day. As a daily driver I liked a bunch of features like remote start that automatically turned on the heated steering wheel, mirror defrost and heat... if the temps were hot it was supposed to do AC but I never tried that. We simply needed a bigger vehicle... lost some money on the resale value but now I'm back to Toyota in a 4Runner and won't leave Toyota again. I was bit by the hype bug but you just can't beat Toyota overall quality and resale value.

Wow this thread really brings everything into light about Frontiers and gotta say I'm a bit surprised. I had a base Frontier 4x2 as a rental and I actually like it, I thought the power was great and it was comfortable... I am chubby but not huge so seats were fine for me. Only thing I didn't like was that the steering wheel wasn't telescopic. Either way, I am more than happy with my 4Runner, but I still would like a Ram 1500 for towing.

Nissan makes good trucks, it is their cars that suck. Enjoy your rig. I envy your 24 mpg :p

Agree with everything you pointed out. But I'm lucky enough to keep both. One word of advise, Nissan build quality lag a bit behind Japan built 4R. Do an oil change as early as possible, did mine at 100 miles. AND 1st differential fluid change before 10k. The oil and diff are full of metal and the diff magnet couldn't capture all of it, metal floatin everywhere. Oil is cheap compared to the gears and seals.

This makes me glad I put my dad in a Tacoma and not a Frontier.

In all honesty I absolutely love the design of the new Frontier, but the fact that it was a Nissan scared me when he thought of considering one, the other one he wanted to look into was the new Colorado Z71, but for longevity and reliability reasons I had him stick with Toyota.

Compared to our 4R, the seat and overall drivability is nowhere near as comfortable in the Tacoma. If you absolutely need the bed, there are ways to make the Tacoma a little bit more forgiving in terms of seating position which I'm sure everyone is familiar with. Otherwise, go with the Tundra and don't look back. A buddy of mine recently traded in his 2022 Tacoma Off-Road for a CPO Tundra Crewmax Long Bed and he absolutely loves it.
