I just bought a new 4runner and decided to move. its a full 1500 Mile on road. As someone with new experience is it a good idea to run your vehicle immediately for long road. Its just been 2 days that i got and decided to move in next 5 days.

    1) is it a wise decision to take new showroom cars on long road trip?
    2) Will i have any engine problems?
    3) I heard its best to take cars on long road trips after first servicing but can i do that before my first servicing?

All info will be deeply appreciated. Thank you so much.

You'll be fine. These are very good trucks.

You’ll be fine. The owners manual specifies several things to avoid for the first 1,000 miles, but the only one you’ll likely have to consider is not maintaining a constant speed/rpm for sustained periods of time. I drove mine 1,000 miles straight off the lot from WI to CO taking the freeway while staying below 70 mph. For me I used the adaptive cruise control to actually help vary the speed. I’d intentionally pull up behind vehicles so I would slow down and then accelerate after moving into the passing lane.

I guess pulling a trailer may not be recommended during break in either, but I’m not sure if you plan on doing that.

Regardless, it’s very unlikely you’d run into any issues in the future related to your road trip even if you ignore the suggested break-in.

I'm moving to Colorado from Tennessee too. I love 4Runner and hence saved up the money to buy the car but since im a novice guy in Cars and this is my first car. I just wanted to get all the info. I wont have any trailer or any sort just some regular boxes and and moving bags. I thought to hit it all in one way go but I guess its best if I take multiple breaks so the engine cools for every 2 hours or so.
