I recently got a 2023 trd premium 4runner and am thinking about a lift kit, maybe 3". I keep seeing ads for OME and am looking for comments and suggestions. I'm mostly wanting it for looks as I don't plan on doing much off roading in my new vehicle but if the situation arises I want to be prepared.

Don't worry about it now, especially if you are not off roading. Much will change by the time you are ready.

My plan was when i need to replace my shocks ill upgrade. At that time i'll also decide if i want to dump KDSS for a big lift or keep it modest.

as Dillusion suggested I too highly recommend spending time here doing some search. An I'm sure unless someone work in 4x4shop its impossible to compare and say A is better than B and C is better than A, etc.. Regular people only experience stock vs their lift kit and that that is the best.

Speaking of OME, I would suggest going for OME BP-51 and not OME Nitro from OME brand. OME nitro was too firm for my taste. But they are strong for some jumps and drive like don't care on rough roads.

Too many options to post review etc. Not to mention everyone has their own opinion on how it feels.

Ideally find someone local and ask if you can jump in.

Why? I was at 3" just fine.

    There are others here too.

3 inch lift using only preload will negatively impact your suspension’s performance if you haven’t made compensating updates. Having consumed most of the down travel, your suspension will top out easily and so feel harsh.

I don’t have personal experience with this phenomenon but have read about it, and I stayed at a Holiday Inn!
