I recently installed some Cali Raised Step Edition Sliders (bars only) to match our TRD Pro rack on our '22 TRD Pro 4R.

I am looking for a nice ladder to match the TRD Pro rack. Most look quite gaudy or have way to much branding which makes it look gaudy for my taste.

Any suggestions on a subtle ladder to match the TRD Pro rack?

The only ladder that is round like the Pro rack that I'm aware of is Gobi's. The other racks on the market either use square tubing or flat metal.

The word "Gobi" is also highly triggering to some forum members so prepare yourself.

I would not consider the Gobi ladder to be “gaudy”. The Branding is essentially cutouts in the metal. Not something one would notice unless looking for it.

thanks for commenting, before the anger comes, can you tell me why people are triggered by Gobi?

Short Story: Gobi takes a long time to deliver their product.

Long Story: Gobi makes very nice product, including roof racks, ladders and accessories. Their products have a distinctive tube style, that is very different than many other aftermarket roof rack companies, who typically have a flat plate style.

Gobi is very forthcoming with their lead times. Their website will tell you, "Hey this isn't going to ship for 30 weeks". People at week two after ordering began to have meltdowns and trash Gobi, and cancel their orders. They then buy from a different company, say how great their rack is, and how shitty Gobi is.

Thanks for sharing. You like it? I assume no problems if it is still on the back.

It was pretty funny, and also extremely obnoxious to have middle aged adult men crying about not being able to get their racks for their Instagram builds, *cough* I mean overland safari.

Gobi's lead times are significantly shorter now, about a month for racks, and a few days for ladders. But yes, I waited 30ish months for mine. Don't regret it.

Also, here's my Gobi ladder. I like it, sturdy, climbed it quite a few times. Tying down certain items from the top is easier than standing on the tire. I also have normal size adult feet so the rungs work (some complained their size 24 Air Jordan's didn't fit).

(Yes the 4Runner is leaning to the right, the parking lot appears level, yet actually has a very steep grade down to the right)

Haha thats okay, mine will likely not be used but the wife has wanted a ladder on the back as soon as she ever saw a TRD Pro 4Runner (it is her vehicle)

We are more for Mall Wheel Drive haha

Mall mode is 100% ok. That's what mine is supposed to be, but I frequently end up in, "How the fuck did I end up on the top of this mountain or down in this gorge." type of situations.

Gobi usually sells the ladder as part of a combo with the rack. You may be able to buy the ladder from someone who doesn't plan to use it.

Bajarack also makes a tube style powder coated similar to Gobi.

Good point. Original plan was to sell the ladder that came with the Rack, but I liked the “poser” look, so I kept it. Rack + Ladder took a little over 6 weeks from order to ship, and another 10 days or so to Florida.

Are those ladder rungs slippery, or do they have some grip? I can't tell if there's any kind of texture to the finish.

Powder coated which I imagine could be slippery with wet/muddy/snowy shoes. I find it most useful as a hand hold while stepping on rear bumper loading and unloading roof rack.

Isn't there a Chinese knockoff of the Gobi ladder?

As for lead times, I got charged the balance and the "ready for shipping" email after five weeks; currently waiting for the "shipping partner contact". Not exactly swift but far from what others have experienced.

I think a ladder may be a lot faster as they would hopefully not wait for your order to start mining the ore.

I second or third Gobi. I think the look is almost identical to the roof rack.
