I see a lot of posts about lifting, upgrading springs, and shocks. But my question is about improving the ride of a 2023 SR5 4x4 base model. I understand this is body on frame. But I have a 2022 Tacoma SR that a put the OEM Bilsteins on to replace the crappy stock shocks/struts that came on the SR. It made a world of difference in the ride quality. My Tacoma upgraded with the Bilsteins (with leaf springs in the rear) rides softer/smoother than the 4Runner on its factory coil springs and stock shocks. To be honest I kind of thought the 4Runner would ride better than the Tacoma.

So I thought I might try replacing the OEM shocks and struts on the 4Runner. I thought based on my experience with changing the Tacoma to Bilsteins that "upgrading" the 4Runner might also help smooth/soften the ride. The 4Runner is my wifes and we will not lift it nor will it see any serious off road. I mean it might drive an unpaved fire road but basically a pavement princess.

I read a post somewhere a few months ago that said Eibach Pro (black) were very nice on the 4Runner. But I love Bilsteins - they always seem to be well done. So I am also considering the B6 (blue/yellow). I would love to hear your experiences with the Eibachs and the B6s; especially the impact on ride quality. I would also welcome other shock options that might improve the on pavement ride quality. (To be clear I do understand body on frame ... just a bit surprised about the ride quality of my upgraded Tacoma vs the stock 4Runner).
