I might be the only person that didn't know this, but I just found out after almost two years of ownership that you can roll down/up the rear glass from the outside of the vehicle. To do this put the key in the rear hatch, turn and hold to the left to unlock the vehicle and roll the window down. To roll it up turn to the right and hold to lock and roll the window up.

Just tried it and was amazed haha.

Hopefully I'm not the only idiot that didn't know this!

It's a holdover from the earlier 4 runners that have a tailgate style instead of a hatch. To open that you actually had to roll the window down from the outside then reach in and undo the tailgate.

And yeah, it's pretty useful. I use it a lot when I have my dirt bike on the back because I can't open the hatch, but I can still squeeze in between the dirt bike on the hitch hauler and the hatch and roll the glass down to access things in the back.

I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and attribute it to all the larping you’re doing out there in Chesapeake/NC.

You should be able to take it to the dealer and they can program the windows to roll down if you unlock the press and hold the unlock button on the key fob. Works on all the door windows and not the rear hatch. I guess with it you can roll the windows up if you put the key in the drivers door and turn it like you would the rear hatch.

I need to have it done on mine

That sounds pretty nifty, especially with summer coming. I'll have to stop by and ask them.
