Researching new tires for winter and also off-road. Current stock tires and rims, bit need stronger capabilities, especially rims which are not soft and will not obliterate if tires are compromised, meaning run on the rims. Tires are P265/70r/17 113S. I understand BFGoodrich are fine, but then there's Wildpeak. Looking to camp and hike and this beast will get me into that grid square. Lot of ideas for the truck.

    Welcome Vince,
AT Tires are really subjective and with the diverse group of 4R operators we have here there'll likely be lots of ideas/suggestions about what to consider. Regarding AT Tires, I'll just offer that I am running BFG KO2's on both my Land Cruiser and my 21' Venture and am super-happy with them. We run both vehicles in pretty deep sand and trails that get muddy. If the BFGs you're mentioning in your original post are the KO2's you've already put those in your "possible" list. If not, you might want to include KO2's in the AT tires you consider. I am running the standard 265/70/16 size with a 1" lift in front via Cornfed Suspension, LLC's 1" front-only lift (Cornfed Suspension, LLC is out of Branson MO). Pic is attached for reference.

I'm not weighing-in on rims here as I'm running the Venture's OEM TRD wheels - but you have literally dozens of options there. Others can share on that.

Good luck and again welcome to the group. Shopping for cool stuff to trick-out your 4Runner is SO MUCH fun! Enjoy!!!
    Brad

Brad: Thanks so much, very appreciated reply. The TRD wheels appear to be structurally sound. I'll be looking at those first.
