Swapped out the rear licence plate screws, license plate lights screws with stainless steel. They are notorious to get rust. Cleaned and added some fluid films.
While at it, cleaned, and fluid filmed the hood latch and tail gate latch.
Cleaned the paint damage behind the tail gate garnish and applied touch up paint. Again, known to cause rest.
Also, recently started getting the shift squeak. Opened the console, realized previous owner had spilled some liquid. The brackets had surface rust. Cleaned, adjusted the shifter support metal bar and added some sound deadening because why not.

I have been debating doing plasti dip on the front and rear valance with the AG. This just helped me determine I, in fact, need to plasti dip them!

I did the front grille trim like you and I wanted to leave the AG front part. I will have the exact setup!

I can be quite scrupulous when I want. I actually dabbed a qtip with evapo rust and lodged it between the holes for sometime to get rid of that last mm of rust.
But I am also postponing the complete suspension overhaul that I need for quite sometime. So, what do I know.

Do they stick out enough to stand on them when washing/drying the truck?

they don't really stick out like a step or running board, but if you used your toes or placed your feet sideways they would work for washing, or reaching something on the rack

Thanks man, it really does. I'm always using a flashlight to look through tools, fishing bag, recovery gear, etc. The factory hatch lights are just at a bad angle. The light fixture I got can also be rotated 180° so you can angle it however you want . Here's the link for you or anybody else that's interested in it. For the money you can't beat it:

I have spent 30+ years in the car business and I have seen every additive you can imagine (Daytona, Krex, STP, Service Rite, MOC, etc.). BG products are the ONLY additives that I have seen that actually do what they say. IMO, the rest of them are crap just sold so the dealer or shop can generate additional revenue.

They’re heavy to put on but won’t kill your mpg too much at all. I lost .5 mpg and that was it.

I wouldn’t be too concerned about mpg either. It’s like adding a full-time passenger, and I don’t think most people notice any real change when they have passengers. Thankfully they add mass to lower the center of gravity and not rotational mass.

Yesterday the dealer I bought my 2018 4R from emailed me that they will have the TRD Pro Mid Jan. I was looking for when I contacted them 2 weeks ago. Thanked them for reaching out to me but told them I got one Friday. She sent back " Nice. Congratulations!" I had bought a FJ from them back in 2008.

Another beautiful day! Got my Canvasbacks in [no pics, we all know what they look like]... installed my OBX Spare Cover... and finished my take on another members using a Trailer Jack Foot on top of the Toyota Jack. I PlastiDipped mine for corrosion and less chance of rattling. Also got a set of RV Jack Plates [Amazon], in case the ground is soft, and a storage pouch [Amazon] for the Plate, Lug Socket & Extension, and Key. The pouch fits perfectly under the Jack.

There is a key that comes out of the base of the fob. There is a spring loaded button you press to the side to release it.

Yep - they don't look like the picture above anymore. Now there is a small lever next to where the key ring attaches on top of the fob. It is not identified as the mechanicalkey release at all. If you were not familiar with how it works - you may assume there is no mechanical key in the fob

Picked up my 4Runners pup-trailer (M101 CDN2 military trailer) from the fabrication shop where they built me an aluminum lid for it. Now to decide if I want to leave it raw or paint it. I'm leaning towards a matte grey paint.
