In the planning stages of removing the trophy seating in the TuRD. I have seen the tube you vids and most of the threads on both websites. The two methods that stick out (ftom the few that attach them) are:
    1) turnbuckle
    2) wire rope

For those that have deleted your rear seats, can you share the method of securing the platforms to the truck? Pics of your setup would also be appreciated (not looking for air mattresses or such).

I don't have any fancy drawer setup, just a sleeping platform. To attach that I used turnbuckles at the tie down points in the back. After a while the turnbuckles would start to loosen up so I just used some Locktite and they haven't budged since then. Again, I don't have a full seat delete and the platform just goes up to the back of the rear seats. So in the front of the platform I also use the tie down points, but I've removed the loops, and I run long bolts through the platform into the welded nuts originally used for the tie down loops.

Trying to figure out a solution myself. Not a fan of the turnbuckle with the design I have going. Still brainstorming. Also still need the tracks for the slide out portion.

I'm a few weeks out from this project, but think i will try to fab a bracket that will use the rear tie down by sliding it under the plastic... Stopped the booze... Again, so it's hard to drink about how it will work. Some kind of "L" bracket is what i picture.

How did you do that slideout? I wanted to do something like that but couldn't find any sliders that fit under the sleeping platform.

I kept it pretty simple. Just used lengths of aluminum L stock screwed into the center and side supports of the platform. Then I put strips of felt on the aluminum that the slideout glides on. So essentially it's just a finished piece of plywood resting on felt runners. The platform is covered with "trunk liner" which is also a felt-like material. I glued left over pieces on the underside of the platform where the slideout is, so it's sandwiched between the felt on the L's below, and the trunk liner above, so there's a slight resistance to pulling it and there is no wobble. I'm happy with it and I think it works very well. Kind of hard to describe, hope that makes sense.

I used turnbuckles and brackets while using the original mounting points of the rear seats

Have been measuring for a raised sleeping area with storage drawer access.

I was looking at something similar on mine and considered creating an access panel (sleeping surface area) that could be removed and using the existing tie down mounting bolts after removing the loop. Was checking McMaster for different materials to possibly create with.

Long story short, over hang above the existing threads with possibly a spacer or two (easy to cut hollow bar stock to get the height correct). Mount initial base, Connect mounting bolts, Cover access hold with possible recessed Dzus fastener so you would not have any additional height and it would not interrupt into the sleeping area.

Will definitely post pics once I arrive on a solid design.

I secure my platform by removing the tie downs and then bolt the platform down to those existing anchor points with longer bolts.

Sorry the pictures are massive. For the 60% side seat delete I built posts that run down to the seat mounting location in the front and support the platform. In the rear there's a small post that does the same thing in the center and on the door side a long bolt runs through the platform and bolts in. So the replacement platform is bolted into all the same locations as the seat was.

In the rear I did the same, running bolts through my platform into the four D-ring locations.

I have a video on the seat delete, it might have some better views: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgKoIkBfxWc

Don't blame me, I voted for Trump.
Here is what I built 3 years ago, as I remember I used metal strapping to secure. It has not moved at all since installing.

This is what i came up with for the rear. 1/8" aluminum stock, cut to go around the plastic trim. Store bought corner bracket, riveted to the aluminum and added a rivnut. I need to get a welder and do some learning.
