Congrats! Sharp looking 4runner. Seems like tint and the AVG vent shades are done (really useful during camping), so at least 2 mods pre completed. I think the bylaws grant provisional cool-kids club status at 2 mods, but cool-kids lunch table status kicks in at 5.

Plenty of members here not in the club though, cuz even stock 4runners are pretty bad ass.

Any plans for the rig? Daily runabout? Considering wheeling or traveling? Either way plenty of info to be had here to get it set up for whatever you do. And plenty of info on maintanance, and typical problems you might encounter on all 4runners.

I’ve had mine since 2021. Sure the forums and internets have had me spend more money than I thought, but there’s enough info to make good decisions on the best mods for your purpose. Sounds like you’re gonna have fun!

WOW 2 up already, I'm feeling good! I plan to use my 4Runner for sometimes driving to work but mostly for my hunting, fishing, and farming adventures to add to my YouTube channel, Laura G Discoveries.

My immediate plans are: Laminix Fog light covers / In Console Gun Safe / Cargo Cover / Hatch Ladder / Front Bumper

Nice. Sounds like a 4runner that’s gonna have a full life. If you’re going to keep it long term and salt is used on your roads, check out the various threads on corrosion protection for the frame. Lots use wool wax spray, surface shield, or similar lanolin sprays to keep the frame from rusting.

Regarding the wave thing, only toyota 4runner wave is no wave at all. No ducks either. This is to reduce awkward moments with those using 4runners in wagon duty, as rentals, or those who don’t know what they are driving. Refer to Cool Kid Club regulations section 231, paragraph 4, sub a. I-IV.

Smiling loudly to one self, or very slight head nods may pass.

The CKC&R's (just like an HOA CCR's) can only be seen by the members. It's like Fight Club, and well, you know the rules of Fight Club.

 

Ok, I might have this figured out by the time my 4Runner gets here this coming weekend.

 

Very cool, great color. You're going to love it. Have you previously owned any other 4R? Been in one? Etc? Curious. For me, here's how it went:

- Honda Geek for 2+ decades, still own their best sports car, the S2000.
- Had to have another Japanese great, an MX-5 Miata, still own that as well.
- We also have a Honda Fit, still have that.
- Was in a Honda CR-V and a Honda Passport. I absolutely loved the Passport, I still think it has of the best engine/transmissions combos in the business, the i-VTEC 3.5L + ZF9 Speed and the best torque vectoring AWD. But, I had to have a 4Runner - and I wanted something more off-road capable, body on frame, and old-school. Nothiing better than being able to buy a brand new old car.
- I got rid of the Passport and got into a third Japanese great, the 2023 TRD Off Road Premium and never looked back. It is my first Toyota and first curiosity of what it was all about, and after rolling at 2mph in the parking lot and turning right, going over one small speed bump, I instantly understood why its so loved. Its analog.

 

Learned to drive a stick at age 13 on aToyota pickup, was a Honda geek starting with 88' Civic Hatchback, 82' Subaru GL Wagon I wish I still had, 2 Honda CR-Vs just traded my 21' CRV for this 4Runner. A friend of mine has a 17' 4Runner I've been around.
