No major mods yet; replaced headlights and interior/exterior lighting with LEDs, added organizers, all-weather floor mats and cargo mats.
I'm happy to be joining this forum as I finally purchased my first 4Runner this past August! 2016 Limited, 103k miles, consistent service records, and she is perfect for my long commutes and OTR travel for work. Only one owner before me and they took really good care of her. Did some minor mods so far--LED headlights/foglights and LED exterior/interior lighting, all weather floor mats and cargo liners, and the typical organizers. The main selling points for me on this particular vehicle are the cargo slide and AWD (and the extra creature comforts). Still learning the buttons via YouTube. Plans for more mods include:
    • More aggressive tires (factoring in possible rubbing)
    • Blacking out all chrome and roof rack (matte)
    • Molle racks - tactical gear, bug-out bag, roadside emergencies, and med/trauma kit
    • Head unit upgrade for CarPlay (that can be a tricky one)
    • Extra dual USB ports and dual USB charger/voltmeter tester for the blanks in my console
    • I manage construction projects so I wanted to somehow work in a toolbox/equipment organizer of some kind and a heater/cooler that can get power even while the Lucille is not running (I named her Lucille).
    • Always open to new ideas and suggestions for mods/maintenance/etc., and happy to share as well.
It's only been only three months and I'm ready to buy Lucille a sister JUST for overlanding. Wife said no....for now.

Welcome to the family. Attached is my 21 Limited Nightshade. I agree with the blacked out trim. The 4Runner had a white Nightshade edition which looks great. The pavement color is mine. I attached the white for your reference.

    Welcome from Denver!

(had to copy from my "almost" neighbor kolter45, LoL)

I have a feeling 17in wheel and tires might be a good upgrade. 265/70R17 on TRD ORP wheels might be the trouble free stock height option.

I'm a fan of stock unit vs some Chinese thing. I would just play music over bluetooth and have the phone itself for navigation on a good phone mount. (I saw some posts about good phone mounts here, even though I don't have one). For interstate driving offline maps upgrading my 2019 headunit (same as ur 2016) was a piece of cake. The map card from Amazon is about 20 bucks. Vs my 2021 4Runner I need to pay yearly subscription for maps.

Cheap Amazon flush type quick chargers that goes in 12v ciggarate lighter port works well for me. When needed I remove it and plug in my laptop charger to the cigarette lighter port.
To watch the voltage I highly recommend something like a low profile Scanguage2 where you can monitor not only voltage but 4 parameters at the same time. If you go to bigger scanguage3 I think you can see 9 parameters at the same time.

Take your time and this forum will very well help you to drain your bank account with mods. Here's my 2019 Limited pic to tempt you to start your spending problems.

Nice ride and thanks for the tips! I will definitely check them out, especially the 17s. Also, I've been looking for ways to go completely broke so I'm glad I've come to the right place!
