The frame broke and I thought I could just get a pick and pull seat no sweat. The prices are all over the map ($60-$260) but I was wondering if I could use the passenger seat back instead.

I have to swap out the seat covers anyways, so I'm not too concerned with the upholstery. A little shocked at how much the foam costs.
    97 - Manual seat.
p.s. Could I bolt an electric one on if I could find one yeah?

Agree with the welding. Yes, quality foam rubber has never been inexpensive. Always found this curious.

If I knew anything about welding, had the gear, and the space. Don’t get me wrong, I’d be stoked to learn how but Im bumping around town with this seat now. But since I’m here. How do I prep the area (is there a name for this type of break)
Do you weld a stronger piece of metal to it to brace it, or do you just try to get the edges close together and lay a bead over them.

I'd just take it down to a local shop and ask them to weld it. Since you have it out, they'll probably do it for cheap. They'll probably just pull it close and lay a bead over it like you said.

Thanks. I'll run it by the shop to see what they quote me.
If I was going to the Central Valley, I'd pick a used one off a wreck. But thanks for the offer.
