2019 Limited. Went to a dirt road looking for boat landing. Saw a water hole in the road, and decided to go in it. Well, it was deeper than I thought (I should have put stick in it for depth). And my tires are mud snow, nothing good.
Buried it,ended up in 4L to get out.
    Did not use ATRAC.
It was fun. Except it had some pluff mud. Smells like pòop.

    Yuck!

I typically only use 4L when descending steep grades for the engine braking benefit. Have fun with the clean up.

Down here in the country we call that "muddin"!!! I love it too - but literally hate the cleanup afterwards. You DO want to get that off your undercarriage and the longer you leave it on the harder it is to get loose.

Totally looks like SC there. Not sure where you are, but they definitely have some of that mud in the lowcountry.

Looks like it was fun mudding, but the clean up is not going to be fun.

    Not me!

I've just watched/read way too much when it comes to that whole side of things!

Currently watching Ghosts of Beirut, which is about the CIA/Mossad quest to bring down the terrorists behind the bombings in Lebanon and the kidnapping and 15 month long torture/killing of CIA station chief Bill Buckley. It was on Showtime, but you can stream it on Paramount+.

It's produced by the same folks who did Fauda (available on Netflix), which is absolutely the best series that touches on anything relating to the Middle East that I have ever seen. Co-written by and stars someone who is ex-IDF special forces. When the Hamas attacks started, it was like the show had actually come to life.

Fauda is so damn good that you find yourself getting angry at fictional characters for what they do to other fictional characters.

Not sure what Opsec has to do with this thread. Where I was is a simple boat landing and park.
Fauda was great. And two of the actors were/are real agents for Israel and are back doing their business due to Hamas attack.
Ghost of Beirut. Great show. But the eay they finished is not the real story. Close. The real ending is cool.
Watch the Looming Towers woth Jeff Daniels. Incredible show too.
I was in Bahrain when Yemen hit

I was just joking that we made it hard for him to figure things out due to operational security concerns specifically because it was just a boat landing and a park!

Right now I just hope the other players in the region recognize that Hamas bit off more than they can chew, and just rattle their sabers enough to keep the folks in the street from noticing how corrupt their governments are. Hung out with one of the members of the Bahrain royal family one summer some as a teenager - one of my friends managed to get him drunk on his last night in the states! :D

Damn, that looks like the muck that keeps you sucked into the hole. Great job getting out with just 4lo and not needing anything else. Shows how great the 4wd system on these things really are

Sometimes I go around. Other times, it's more fun to go straight through. :D

I went through this mud hole 5-6 times to make sure I wasn't going to hit a boulder and break stuff. Then, I sent it! :mudding:

Tires are a huge help Mine are low tier tires. I will eventually get some TRD wheels and tires, and lift front end an inch or so. Cant hurt.

The ORP wheels are also worth a look. With the TRD wheels, you do have the potential for rubbing unless you follow the Toyota procedure they do when the TRD wheels are installed at the port. It's all about that scrub radius.

Even stock size tires and stock ride height will serve you well if you get the ride tread design.

Thanks, With the limited front bumper hanging pretty low, a little lift would be a help to keep it from potentially being an issue.
I have Spidertraxx spacers on the 4runner now, so I have clearanced the fenderwells for that rubbing issue. So far so good.
Tire tread is critical for sure. These tires I have are great for malls.

Lift doesn't clear tires, unless you never leave pavement. ;)

I hate mud, I was surprised the rear wheel wells have a big lip on the outside that hold a lot of mud! You have to hose it out or it'll sit there forever. OP you can put a lawn sprinkler under it for a while too to help get a lot off.
