Hello purchased a twin ARB air compressor and need some advice on where the best place to fit? I have a spare battery and an air intake already so under the hood is out of the question. I was looking at the under seat mount (seems like passenger side is the only option for the twin arb compressor)and was curious if anyone has installed/used before? If so were there any other parts that you need to order? Thanks

I would do everything I could to mount it under the hood or at least in the back. Mine is super loud even under the hood and I couldn't imagine it 2 feet from me. They also seem to get pretty hot so watch your carpet/seat insulation.

That being said I did install a subwoofer under my passenger seat (probably louder than the compressor lol) and seat lift spacers were cheap on Amazon.

I have my eyes on the ARB Dual Compressor / Under Seat mount kit as future upgrade option, too. On paper, it seems like a very nice solution / hiding spot for adding a compressor.

I'm not terribly concerned about the noise. If the compressor is running, I don't expect that I'll be sitting in the truck with it, but rather standing somewhere nearby chatting with others. I hadn't considered the heat build-up issue. That could certainly cause problems with the seat electronics if everything got hot enough.

Granted... being under the seat would require keeping the front passenger door open. Thus during inclement weather, things will likely get wet. This versus it being under the hood (where you could semi-close the hood) or in the back (where the hatch could also be partially closed or left open to provide some overhead protection).

I'm definitely curious to hear anyone's personal experience with the set-up.

And just to add to my reply for context I am locked front and rear so it does run while I'm in the truck driving off-road occasionally. If it's just for airing up I guess it wouldn't be so bad.

And one more thing…the dual compressor is complete overkill. I wish I had bought something smaller and cheaper. I bought it with a one-gallon tank thinking I would run air tools but everything is battery-powered these days. In my old truck I had the single compressor and for running lockers and filling my tires it was more than enough.
