so i have searched with google and the forums, so i did try to find the answer before I asked, I am in the market for a 4runner, my question is about swapping the cloth seats out, I would prefer to not have cloth seats. I have found a few 4runners that pretty much check all the boxes except they have the cloth seats. I was wondering about swapping the front seats from the cloth to TRD pro seats? I am just asking because I have a salvage yard near me that has a set of front TRD pro seats for $500 but wasnt sure about the wiring for the heated seats etc and was wondering if anyone has tackled that?

You don't need to swap out the entire seat. You can get seat covers. A lot of guys on this site and Tacoma World have raved about how great Katzkin are (fair price, great quality, easy to install, etc).

You could possibly lose the heated seat function because the Pro Bro seats are heated/cooled. The heated connection may be different.

I’d just get covers or fabric replacements. If you’re set on leather you can check out Katskin.

Just heated unfortunately. It’s the limited that has both heated and ventilated seats

Katzkin will be more than $500 without the TRD stitching. I was quoted $1800 on my old Rubicon I say, get the Factory seats. Pull the heating wiring and hardware. Just my 2 cents

Yeah that’s what I was thinking…was curious how the wiring etc would go and if it would be possible without a ton of re-wiring etc

I believe Katzkin are leather, whereas TRD Pro are vinyl like the ORP seats.

So that's another issue - vinyl versus leather.

Hey Hey Hey...they aren't vinyl! They are "Softex". It's synthetic leather.

OP found front seats only for $500. Not sure what condition those would be in. For 2 row 4Runner, Katzskin will be about $1,200 not installed.

How do they smell? Are we talking Qdoba farts or Taco Bell ones?

If they're in good condition go get them. They will bolt right in and plug in without issue. Katzskin is good but will be more expensive. Plus you could recover a couple bucks selling your cloth seats.

I’ve seen a lot of pictures of the Amazon seat covers on FB groups and they honestly look great. $250-$280 bucks

On another recent thread somewhere, I saw people speaking favorably of Clazzio seat covers (https://www.clazzio.com/). I have no experience with this company, but it looks like you can get leather seat covers, both front seats and rear seats for $699.

Full set is about $1,200, so probably $700 or so.
