What negatives did you hear about the H9 conversion?

The vast majority I hear are positive.......including my own experience.

 

The bulb and wire temperature concerns are not a problem, it’s been hashed out numerous times. Here’s one:

Proper way to carry to sixth tire. When you go cheap with roofrack, rust all over the place. Should have bought the OEM or Gobi. Don't buy crap guys!

 

Two more mods:

1) The day/night light sensor: (I couldn't fully test it because it's overcast today, but I'm sure it works fine)



2) A color matched key fob. Because why the fuck not? It's gotta match the truck color!

Okay, riddle me this, Batman: How can I imitate the sun? I need to test what it does when the lights are turned on, but I'm driving during the daytime. I cannot do that when it's overcast or dark.

After you added the sensor did it affect what position you keep the Dimmer switch on the left side of the dash at?

I had this mod on my ‘19 ORP but I can’t remember if it affected the Dimmer Switch Setting. Thanks.

 

Was a vast improvement over the OEM. That was 1 of the 1st mods I did going from 2015 Tacoma I couldn't believe how dim they were in comparison.

 

After I added it, I didn't have to adjust the dimmer switch

Spent a couple hours with my Runner on the jack and ramps while I crawled around underneath spraying Woolwax in-and on about everything. I'll be ordering more for extra sprays down the road, but I'm glad to get this process started. I need to make this beast last and this will surely help.

 

No I'm not! I had to have @hvac guy fix it for me.

 

Even if he didn't, it can't stay dark forever. I'm staying tuned for your review.

 

Still have a bunch of finishing to do (yes, those drawer fronts are hideous and will get replaced) but the seat delete is complete for a full length platform.

 

I tested it earlier and it works. I turned the lights on and the radio gave me the black screen, because it thought it was night time. Then I pointed a flash light at the sensor to simulate sunlight and it changed to a bright white screen.

It was a simple plug-n-play mode that took all of 2 minutes to install. The dummy sensor plug pops off kind of easy and the new one pops right in and...well, that's it.

 

One more question - when you turn on the headlights in daylight, will the screen stay light? If so, then I'm all in.

 

Yes. That is exactly what it does, and exactly why I bought it/installed it. My sensor works just like this guys sensor:

The 4R ALL AUTO windows feature is underrated and seldom mentioned eh, they didn't skimp on the legendary rear window too.
Am I alone really appreciating the fancy one touch ability? (regardless of its flaws) - for a guy used to zero power windows locks or doors on my only other two vehicles (don't laugh!)

Right there with you, it's great except for the six switches in three locations part.

 

Debaged and painted black the tailgate garnish. On the fence on buying a black one, so just did it myself before surrendering the $$$.

 

Spent yesterday I installed a carbon fiber steering wheel. Found mine on the KTJO4x4 website. It's already discounted $100. Then tacked on 15% more due being a first responder.

Not gonna lie, it scared the hell outta me taking that part of the truck apart due to the clock spring. But after watching crap ton of videos on doing this, gave it a shot, and I think it came out real well. The red stitching and handle compliment the black/red theme I have going.

 

That looks tight as hell!
