I'm looking to purchase a 4th Gen 4Runner. I'll be coming from a Tacoma and wife drives the 2019 SR5 4R. I have found 2 options near me, both with pros and cons IMO. I am located in Massachusetts so ideally would want 4WD again. If anyone has experience with either of these configurations and can offer insight I'd greatly appreciate it.

    1st Option:
    2007 4R Sport V8 RWD
    247k miles
    $8,499
    Private Sale
    Apple Carplay
Owner has updated the original OEM parts with new OEM parts
Only real concern would be 2WD

    2nd Option:
    2007 4R SR5 Sport V6 4WD
    146k miles
    $9,800
    Sun damage on hood
    Has center diff lock
    4WD
    Less Miles

Make sure the frames don’t have a ton of rust on them. I would go option 3 pending a mechanical inspection. I have a v8 with 242k miles on it and it runs great, but did not come without needing some TLC and parts as any older vehicle would. Are you willing to put some money into it?

the v6 one also looks good pending frame and mechanical inspections. Probably couldn’t go wrong with either.

Like @gkomo stated, if rust isn't an issue I would choose the '05 V8 AWD, followed by the V6 4x4.

The 2wd is a non-starter in my opinion.

    You can't touch a nice V8 4runner here for under $10k.
