Was pretty damn excited to do my first “mod” (add-on rather) until the last seconds. The raptor lights I bought from Amazon are garbage. Or, maybe I’m an idiot. Very possible. The fuse box could never close because the add/on fuse was huge. Too high to make the fuse box top latch.

My wife and I worked on this thing for 40 minutes then she looked up reviews and started spewing comments about how garbage this kit is — same issues … can’t even close the fuse box. Interesting, because the video on Amazon was pretty good, the guy who made the video had no issues. I’m kinda a OCD kinda guy and I always want my things perfect, so having a fuse box cover that cannot shut completely irritates the crap out of me so I took the lights out. Sad, I liked how they looked. Guess I’ll go back to the drawing board. But, I’m not the only person to have this shitty issue. Live and learn. Go ahead and tell me there are 40 other threads about this. I’m sure there are. Sorry to waste your tine.

this is why I hate Amazon. You never know what you’re getting from China. It’s all great until it’s not.

    They look cool!
Cant you just t-tap onto the parking light circuit? Shouldn't be that hard. Of course, they'd only come on when your parking lights are on. T-taps have always been my best friend. lol

My bit of advice, do not use these fuse things. Wire it properly like wiring a light bar using a relay and dash switch. I took the relay trigger wire from a wire tap behind the cigarette lighter and main power is coming from the 12v battery. This way when your cigarette lighter have current the grill lights are on and when you shutoff the vehicle grill lights are off.

Mine are wired through the firewall grommet into the INJ slot on the fuse box under the dash. Much more of an effort but good or better than the outside fusebox. Bought an extended fuse box cover on Etsy to cover it up.

At least they look better on 4Rs than actual Raptors.

Hey OP, so I believe what looks to be a piggy back fuse holder there, is a common wiring solution in kits. I've used em, but it's normal that the fuse box lid no longer fits on top. It's not that bad of an issue, just rock it, or buy a higher extended lid off DrKDSS.com or Etsy. That being said, the ones I've seen are for the interior fuse box tho

Ran into the same issue. Ran a wire through the firewall and added a switch from 4Runner Lifestyle. Power from the ACC fuse tap.
