Body color? For 1990 sr5

i recently picked up a 1990 4 runner sr5 MT for the bargain price of 800. After new plugs, wires and a dist cap the engine is running like a charm.

However the paint on the hood and roof is rough and I’m thinking of finding a replacement hood any clue what the name of this color is? I’m not sure how many type of red Toyota has and I’d hate for it to be a shade off.

 

Its either cardinal red or medium red pearl but I believe its cardinal. Hard to tell without a side pic. Look in the door jam for the factory sticker. It'll have a code that says 3h7/xxxx or 3h4/xxxx. That will tell you the color. 7 is cardinal and 4 is pearl

Ok so you're color code is 28L which means the top half of your body is 3h4 and the bottom half is 138 (some kind of dark gray). While we're at it I'm pretty sure te hh11 next to it is your interior color.

Unfortunately that color is very susceptible to oxidation so if you do find another hood make sure you wax the crap out of it. Because it is also a pearl color it is not cheap to repaint. Mine looks exactly like that as well

 

Thanks a lot much appreciated. I figured replace the hood with one in better shape off of a parts car and get a crappy maaco roof job just to stop it from getting any worse.
