My headlights are alway on and it annoys me... Anyone have any idea on how to make it so the headlights only come on if the switch on the stalk is turned to the on position? Here are some deets...

Headlights always on except just after start *only when* the handbrake is engaged. They come on as soon as handbrake is released. I unplugged the pressure switch at the handbrake, no change. I also (just guessing) unplugged the DRL fuse, no change.

Weirdly, even though the the lights are on when the stalk switch is in the off position, they are a little bit dimmer than when the switch is in the on position. Because I run LEDs they also have a weird flicker, but only when the switch is off... is less power being sent to the bulbs when the switches are off? why?

Does anyone know if there's a fuse I could pull or how I could rewire the headlights so they ONLY come on when stalk switch is in the ON position and is not affected by the hand brake?

Any ideas where to start looking so I can fix this on my 2001 Toyota 4Runner would be super helpful!

Sounds like your light sensor on your dash is telling the car that it's night out all the time.

I for one run my lights on 24/7. It makes me more visible and I need all the visibility I can get with the crazy idiots I have to commute around.
