Hello, all! I have been shopping for a 4Runner for a bit and decided to go ahead and join the forum! Right now I'm dealing on a 22 TRD Sport in Lunar Rock. I'm trying to decide if that's the trim level for me or if I need to look in a different direction. What has me on the fence right now is power passenger seat and heated seats for the most part. I'm coming from a 2020 F150 but have always been a Toyota person. My only 4Runner was a 99 SR5 that we really enjoyed. I won't be offroading, but will be driving in some snow on occasion. I live in North Central Kentucky so we do have snow at times. I look forward to interacting in this forum!

Welcome to the forum. I’m in a similar situation trying to do my due diligence to be sure I get the best trim level and year model with least common problems which I don’t expect many to have problems being it’s a 4Runner. Good luck!

Thanks everyone! I didn't make it out over the weekend, but plan on going out this week. The used TRD Sport and used SR5 P are still available. The local Toyota dealer has several new ones I may check out too. Here are photos of the two mentioned.MF.jpg CT.jpg

You might want to use comparison tool on Toyota site to decide as well.

XREAS suspension on Limited and TRD Sport are the most comfortable on the road.

I'm a HUGE fan of 3rd row seat on SR5 and Limited.

I love no moonroof option with heated seats, but you have to be very lucky to find.

Even for pavement I love 17in wheels and tires.

On snow full-time 4wd on Limited is the by far choice over part-time 4wd on TRD Sport/ SR5 / TRD ORP/ TRD Pro.

I really love JBL sound on Limited and TRD Pro. It's a very decent factory option.

If you ever go offroad front camera is very nice to have. Last weekend I saw even SR5 having Terrain Monitoring package (360 camera thing).

Many more options to think about....

No news to report. The TRD Sport and SR5 Premium are still available. Both have less than 10k miles on them. I know the previous owner of the SR5 P and know the care he gives his vehicles. I missed a chance on a new Limited and ORP that sold before I could make it to the dealership.

I'm ashamed to say that I still have not bought a 4Runner. I am still shopping. I have let several good ones get away. I did take a break from shopping because my daughter got her license. We traded my wife's Pilot in on a Venza that my daughter now drives. That left my wife without a car so we shopped for a car for her. She ended up with a new Pilot and now I'm back looking at 4Runners. I still like the Lunar Rock, but they don't come up on the used market as often as other colors and they didn't offer LR on a 24. I am considering all colors and trim levels. Someday...

Run, NOW to your Toyota dealership and pick up a 4Runner. Talk about letting several good ones get away. I majorly f'ed up by allowing a 2024 SR5 (2WD) with 7 miles on it to escape my grasp. Price was $36K. It was listed as used because the dealership had previously titled it for dealership usage and then somehow forgot that it was on their lot. I did, however, end up buying a 2024 SR5 Premium that had 18 miles on it when I took it for a test drive. Needless to say, that one came home with me.

I will definitely get this gen. It may not be new, but am looking at 2020 and newer. I really prefer 22 or newer because of BSM.

Well, I am no longer still shopping. I traded my F150 on Friday but opted for a 2023 Tundra Platinum. I just couldn’t get away from a truck. I’ll always love 4Runners and will still notice every single one of them. Thanks for letting me lurk here over the last year plus.

Hope you enjoy the Tundra. I had 3 of the new gen’s (23 pro ,23 limited and 24 TRD plat) and opted back to the 4Runner V6 and couldn’t be happier.

I hope the tundra gives you zero issues for years to come!!
