    Hi Everyone,

    I've taken over my dad's 2012 Trail Edition 4Runner. He was no longer capable of driving due to age and mental accuity. Mostly doing basic maintenance. I'm planning doing some basic mods for protection - skid plates and sliders. But not looking to lift it, upsize the tires, raise the suspension.

    I used to have 2002 Limited. Had a nice Shrockworks bumper (I think that was the brand) and weld-on sliders. Plus a OME lift. Sold it back in 2015 or so. Missed having a 4Runner, so it's nice having one in the stable again. Also had a 1995 Pickup (pre-Tacoma). Nothing like a Toyota truck!

    He was OK with it. Had an accident (backed into a stud wall and took it down). No one hurt, but the 4runner got some scratches and I had to replace one of the rear lights (went with Morimoto on both). Told me to come get the 4Runner. It was the right call. He's 92 years old. Bought the 4Runner in late 2011 or early 2012, promptly put on BFG KO2s (even the spare) and drove it up to Alaska, camping most of the way. Not bad for doing that when you are 80 years old. I think he got the 4Runner based on my experience with the 3rd gen.
