Today I flew KIXD KABQ KPHX KIXD in a Citation M2.
(Kansas City - Albuquerque - Phoenix - Kansas City).

I had a great day flying a great machine, but I still miss the challenge of taking a single-engine piston westward over mountains.

That thin air must be working on you!

Many times I made the westwardly trek from TX to NM or AZ in a single, especially during winter/spring when the jet stream was down low and I was wishing I was in a jet!

One of the worst was one day several winters ago, after a front, in the Meridian KAUS>KSAF at FL 240 with 100kts of wind on the nose. Not a smooth FL to be found. Even my Lab, Gus was lookin at me like,” dude, what’s taking so long, I gotta pee!!”

The M2 is a sweet ride.
    Blue Skies.

Edit: PS: I did my initial training in Mesa, AZ (KFFZ) just east of Phoenix.

Working with a fellow in a Mooney 20J. Trying to get him instrument current. I am very thankful for my Ipad, ADSB, my Stratus and all the newer technology that helps me see all the traffic. It sure does help make things safer.
