@Justthemechanic I realize this is an old post but just purchased the Rocky-Road sliders for my 98 4runner Limited and was hoping to get some photos of your install. Please, any advise would help a lot. Thanks!!

There is not a lot of room between the frame and body, my drill would not fit. I had to use a 90 degree drill attachment to drill the holes. RR also provided “self tapping” bolts. The frame is too hard and the bolts would not self tap. So I used a tap to thread the frame. I used washers to fill the gap between the slider and the pinch seam on the bottom of the rocker panel. Good Luck!

Hey man, would you mind giving me some info on your BF A/Ts? I'm nearing the point of needing to make decisions as far as what tire size to put on my 4R. Are those 31s?

You had posted the link for the new side decals on my thread man, thanks! Yours look great. Did you apply them yourself?

The tires are 33x10.5, the decals are factory original.

That paint looks pristine man. Looks like she has been in the garage since new.

Do you happen to have any full pictures of your 4R man? I'm trying to make decisions about a modest / tasteful lift height and tire combination and you look like you have figured that out. Did you do a lift or just go with the 33's on stock setup?

Edit: My fault man. Just saw you have a 2 inch lift on there.

That picture was taken just after my annual pinstripe buff and polish. I am the third owner and I believe it has always been garaged.

When I bought the truck all 4 shocks were worn out and the rear springs were sagging. I was building it for off road so I went with the Old Man Emu 2” lift kit, 4 shocks, standard rear springs and heavy duty torsion bars. It raised the rear almost 4 inches and I adjusted the front .5” above center. I really like the ride. I started out with the OME standard rear springs. But after adding a sleeping platform, armor, bumper, winch and carrying more camping stuff for overnight trips the weight went up and after 15K miles the rear springs sagged. I recently installed the OME heavy duty rear springs and it leveled it out again and the ride is still good.

    Before with 31’s.

    After new springs with 31’s.

Ive been trying to get a lift for my 93 or at least level the back. How did you get a 2" lift for yours? I cant find anything of that size that fits a 93. On the old man emu site i can only find lifts for a 1st gen 4r.
