Hi. Is there a way to hide emojis so they are not displayed in posts, for those of us who find them obnoxious?

I just don’t need stuff like this, copied from another thread:
More like your :bananadance: in my  while my :bananadance: is in your mom's :taco:

    Oooh look, another mod.....

Since I'm a new-ish member, I'm familiarizing myself with all the settings/preferences. I had to, because I was getting email alerts for everything and site notifications for everything too. Very annoying that it was turned on by default, but I digress.....

I did not see anywhere to turn off Emoji's. I find them obnoxious sometimes, especially when they're over used, or if someone has them in their signature. Maybe you can pray that persons laptop/computer gets a virus so bad that is crashes and they can't login to the site anymore! :)

From what I have searched, So far all you can do is ignore the particular user.

This isn’t a Taco forum - even though they are part of the Toyota family.

No wonder you are annoyed. Also, who lets people eat bananas in their cars?

Like was mentioned, you can ignore certain users but the software doesn't give us the option of disabling emojis on here

You could use a browser extension that allows you to block specific URLs.

All the emojis are at the following URLs (remove spaces in URL)
    https://www. 4runners .com/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/extra/taco.gif

just add a ( * ) to include all gifs in the .../extra/ folder.

    https://www. 4runners .com/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/extra/*.gif

    and

The sentence no longer makes sense without the emojis though. You can turn off GIF animation in the browser instead, this way you don't miss any information the emoji is trying to convey.

In my head this place is a part of tacomaworld, which seems very spammy

personally I like a spam friendly vibe

I'm sorry @Captain Spalding I realize it's a challenge to have one group of people spamming right next to another group who are trying to avoid seeing stuff
