Hello fellas and thank you for all the help in advance.

The block cracked so I guess it's time for the 3.4 swap.

I have a 1990 4Runner 4x4 and I am looking to source an engine for my swap. I have reached out to some recommended and reputable engine builders in my area and everyone is at least 5-6 months out, booked on other orders. I don't mind doing the swap myself, however, I still need to find the right engine. I would love to find a 3.4 engine ready to go. Would anybody here have any leads or connections on an engine builder, or even Toyota or 4x4 groups in the Bay Area that would be able to help me out?

I'm also in the bay area and I'm rebuilding my enegine rigth now. I considered a 3.4 swap, but there's problems getting it approved in CA. Something about an exhaust pipe crossover, or something with the exhaust. If you really want to drive it in CA, I would suggest do more research, because I don't think is possible to have a legal swap in Cali

Yeah, I found a Toyota wreckage yard and the guy was able to source me an engine, and transmission, also ordering me the ecu as well as the crossover pipe to connect to the current exhaust system. It can be done.
