Looking to start modifying my 2017 4runner TRD. First thing is the lift. I’ve been looking at the Icon lifts. Not sure if I need the stage 5 or if stage 2 would be good enough. It’s an everyday grocery getter but looking to be pretty aggressive with it. I want to set it up to be pretty aggressive in the rocks. What’s everyone’s opinions as far as lifts?? Thanks for the input

Welcome to the forum and nice choice in a 4Runner.

I’m running a 2017 TRD OR Premium and just Saturday installed a OME suspension that netted me a little over 3” lift. I can’t speak on Icon as I’ve never ran that suspension but I’m sure others will chime in with their thoughts

Sounds like stage 2 kit would be just fine for you. Unless you are looking at needing the external reservoirs for high speed desert running then go stage 5. The added stage 3 lower links might be worth a look since you are going to be dealing with rocks.

If you're planning on doing hard core rock crawling I would suggest looking at a long travel kit. Will get you a bit more articulation with the IFS. I mention it because if you go mid travel and then decide you need long travel, you will have to toss your entire suspension set up and start over again. That being said. I am running mid travel OME and have been absolutely pleased with the performance. All comes down to how hard you're going to drive it, and only you know the answer to that.
